Research interests: m
y main research areas are speech acoustics and articulatory phonetics. I'm interested in the relation between acoustic and articulatory variability in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish, which I will explore in my dissertation using ultrasound tongue imaging and lip video data. I'm also collecting ultrasound data on Spanish trills to examine tongue configurations of non-trilled rhotic variants, as an extension of a project that described the acoustic characteristics of these variants.
